Under rating threshold (show) i like how it appears the nail may be related to an optional puzzle. idk what that would be but

Under rating threshold (show) And the nail is pointless. Plus, writing that symbol on the chalk board: pointless. A lot of red herrings in this one.

Under rating threshold (show) There's nothing complicated about the chalkboard. Each row is 10 digits... example: 58 is 5 rows plus the 8th number of the 6th row. Hope this helps. The nail is a misdirection, but scratch another symbol on the wall for Catatonic Jay anyhow. He won't notice.

Under rating threshold (show) I absolutely love MS games and have played them all. I love the claustrophobic, tense atmosphere. The puzzles are always challenging, and to top it off, make sense! But the code in this one... Like many others have said, the grid counting off the mark. The time I spent trying to figure that out was at least 10 times longer than the rest of the game. There is no indication to the way the code sheet numbers were meant to be used. Make it a difficult puzzle, that's fine. That's one assumes in a puzzle game. But please don't make it look complicated when it isn't.

Under rating threshold (show) People keep saying the chalkboard puzzle was hard, but to me it was really easy. Once you have the paper out of the book on the shelf, then use the numbers to count through the numbers on the chalkboard left to right starting from the first number each time to get the code for the security bypass.

Under rating threshold (show) Great game! As said before the chalk board puzzle is hard. One thing to remember is the first line is single digits, so continuing lines are 10 20 30 all the way to 90. I kept counting the first line as 10 as I went down and kept screwing up the numbers.

Under rating threshold (show) So if you don't succeed with the chalkboard counting one way, why not try another? It's not that hard. Either they're coordinates, or they're counting numbers. I had more trouble finding everything clickable.

Under rating threshold (show) For those who still don't get the chalkboard puzzle: See the numbers on the paper? On the chalkboard, count from left to right by the number on the paper. For example, if the number 3 is at the very top right corner od the board, it would be the 1st number. The number to the right of it would be the 2nd number, and so on.

Under rating threshold (show) Why is people complaining about the chalkboard? You have 100 cells, and 5 numbers from 1 to 100, I don't think it's a 'cryptic' or 'very difficult' problem. Maybe people is overthinking it? In truth it's fairly easy, and a lot of people is downvoting this game just because they didn't get it, which is sad.. :(

Under rating threshold (show) Nice game, it drew me in right away. But I must join with the voices objecting to the chalkboard puzzle. I spent more time on it than I did on the rest of the game, total. And that is *with* the help of the walkthrough! The game itself deserves 4/5 stars, but that foul number grid cost it a star. 3/5

+ - !

Jun. 21, 2014

Under rating threshold (show) The reason the chalkboard is so confusing is likely because most people when faced with a grid and sets of 1-2 digit numbers assume that it's a coordinate plane, usually the upper right quadrant. The code numbers are not x/y coordinates they just count squares, from left to right, top to bottom.

Under rating threshold (show) ahh ok thanks wlerin now I get it. People who remember how number grids work are the people who will be able to solve it. I just googled "number grid" and watched pictures and now the chalk board makes sense. But who the hell knows/remembers how number grids work? Only like 1% people so imo the puzzle is for sure too hard.
