Great idea, bad implementation. Such a shooter, if implemented correctly, could really make a good game. To start with, try making the mouse aim the ship, and not the arrow keys. It'd be easier to play that way.

Nice to see old ideas come back. Havent seen a "tailgunner" kind of game in quite a while. This one need some work though. WHen you have bombed the largert type of ships then there appears to be nothing to do untill you run out of fuel and die. Also the map doesnt seem to have any practical purpouse. Still it could be a great game with a bit more sork.
