What's up with all these "unity terrain demos" that place you in a level with a few hills, non-colliding trees and nothing more? Anyway, what you need to create in an environment like this is variation. Use more different tree models for a forest, use different ground textures, create interesting locations with boulders, hills, lakes, small passages, clearings etc. Create stuff that is interesting to look at. Why do you think are people going into a forest to take a walk? It looks awesome. This here is a tree fram.
