Any suggestions to make game play better? What did you not like about it? I mean it wasn't meant to be a game to go back to, more like you beat it and that's it. But you aren't one of the 3 people who beat the game....

2 words: Game Design. I see zero effort in the spawn-patterns of the enemies -- they seem to just spawn at random, and progress in difficulty is based on kill count even though the random spawn algorithm is extremely uncontrolled. Every enemy spawn in a good shmup has a specific algorithm that determines where/when what spawns, how it moves, and how it shoots (or not). I suggest playing (or at least watching replays on youtube) of professionally developed shmups and analyze their design to improve your own. I won't bother listing everything as there are too many to cover. I suggest starting with Gradius V or something.
