Planet Defense is an exciting prototype design of a three dimensional tower defense game. It takes place in the somewhere distant future and was a student project created by Ken Friedrichs (Myollinir).
This game was created for my college class - a 10 week portfolio run to create a prototype game. I am a programmer at heart, and I can do a little texturing, but I don't jump into most modeling. That means this game will lack models - I used all primitives. The objects flying in are meant to be asteroids and comets at this stage. I did all the work by myself except for the music. The goal was to show my programming skills on a game in a 10 week process. I may add more updates in the future.
Music for menu screen is written by Max Corbacho.
Music for main game is written by Robert DeFresnes.
วิธีเล่น
All mouse commands. Click basic menu buttons with left click. In main game, hold right mouse button down and drag screen to control camera. Left click on nodes to select them. Left click on turrets menu after node is selected to build. The escape key can be used to pause the game and allow pause options.

– You can click / hover turrets from max distance now
– Fixed general turret node issues
– Made turret GUI menu slide in and out to maximize viewing area
– Zoom has been enhanced for speed
Prototype for 800 by 600 resolution finished 10-10-2011.

love the 3d defense, somewhat hard to click on towers tho, i have to zoom in close, and angle them right below the camera. maybe make the camera move faster too since its almost a full 360 area. other then that its great, needs upgrades and to be longer :p...but very nice 4/5

Nice concept but very poor game play. Especially difficult to put in towers (had to zoom in close to register), which by the way ugly and very boring. Not to mention why blue cans would want to destroy the moon. Towers need upgrades to even make it playable, had 6 laser towers shooting a 1 can and could not destroy it. Despite this, I think the game does have potential, as is it just a demo that need lots of work. I would like to see instead of blue cans, maybe a fleet of enemy ships with each tower good against different types of ships. You will need a research tree in between waves, etc. you know the drill, as all good TD games have the same things in common. Good luck with this game and hope you really put some effort into improving it.

You could have at least TRIED with the graphics. I realize this is just a prototype, and it IS a fantastic concept, but the execution so far does not give me high hopes.

what to say? Already to much. Must leave now to erase memory. Situation critical.
