Operation Music A

I like the game overall, but as has been mentioned before, sometimes with all the yellow pieces whirling around it gets difficult to see where you are exactly. Also, while i'm not sure how the program is meant to handle outside music, putting in my own MP3's didn't seem to work very well. A few cyan pieces came from the top, but most seemed to only come up about a centimeter from the bottom, making it rather un-fun. So overall, a 4/5

A solid production worth at the very least a solid 3. Obviously in the same venue as music catch though with a somewhat more abstract tone and different pacing. I liked the initial choice of music and different effects that appeared during different songs. I have a few minor gripes though addressing some of them could actually kill the game's charm. For one, occasionally it was quite easy to "loose" the "cursor" as the screen was almost white with light. At times I also found it difficult to connect the tune/rhythm with the particles, though I am willing to blame it on my lack of sense of rhythm. Finally, I wish there were some customization options, at least for playing our own music. Other than that, like I mentioned earlier, I really liked the choice of graphics and music and was positively surprised with the lack of slowdown even at particle intense moments. Overall, a solid effort in a genre that hasn't been done to death yet, so I'm upping the final rating to a decent 4.
