The graphics have a great design and aesthetic to them and the story is short but sweet. I think there was a missed opportunity with generic interactions. Like walking down the street passing lovers should have prompted a thought bubble like "oh I wish I had that" or passing the children on the playground could prompt "I miss those carefree days." I understand the message is that her life is mundane and sad but I feel like without those glimpses into her thoughts you have no way to truly empathize with the character. (and it also becomes mundane for the player). In order for the fireworks scene to work you need to know how truly depressed she is. It would also allow you to further develop the story without having to animate more scenes. Having her pass by the bar and think "who would I get a drink with?" or "I don't have the money for that right now" gives the player a reason why they can't go inside. So great potential but I'd like to see more.
Thanks, really good advice, but I wanted the player to perceive the world around him, thinking about something his own, and not to speak for him. In any case the next game will be something similar with your tips)
