Wynken, Blynken, Cthulhu, and Nod

Created at the Webster April 2014 Game Jam in St. Louis, Missouri.

Our team’s challenge theme: “Create an action game where you go to war with boredom on a boat.”

We decided to make a game based on the 1885 “Wynken, Blynken, and Nod” poem, where the goal is to keep a giant Cthulhu star baby entertained by flying around in a boat made of wooden shoe given wings, catching falling stars and returning them to the baby while listening to the original poem. If you can collect 7 stars before the poem ends, the baby is entertained and falls asleep, and you win. If you don’t collect enough stars, then the baby gets bored and angry, and destroys the world!

Cara Bermain

WASD or left analog stick: Move
Mouse+right click(held) or right analog stick: Look around
Shift or left trigger: Descend
Space or right trigger: Ascend

Collect starlings and bring them to Lord Cthulhu to please him! Or else he might cry. You don’t want that, do you?

Note: While you remain inside the collider in front of the Dread Lord’s face after having delivered a starling, he will remain immune to further displays until you move far enough away from the area that you can move back inside it again.
