There should most definitely be a level up function, otherwise the exp. means nothing. Also, the character should have a health bar as well, like the enemies. Getting a whole lot better!

thanks for the feedback and encouragement :D i need to take a break, been flat out on this. im waiting to get a pen and tab to draw with, then the graphics will be through the roof :) (hopefully)

A lot better, maybe some powerups like showing life bars or faster laser shots, etc.?
good point on life bars, thanks! still very early :P but between these missions there will be zelda like sections :D

Highly reminiscent of games I loaded into a computer on cassette tape back in the Dark Ages. Unfortunately, in my job, when I create something amateurish and crude looking, I can't call it 'retro' and get patted on the back - I actually have to do it right. Other creative enterprises would benefit from similar standards.
id die a happy guy if i could get this on an amstrad cpc :) thans for the feedback, taken on board! pixelate is just the filter, things are a bit more high res than they look..just looks a bit more consistent like this..

Certainly needs the gun to do more damage and/or knock out enemy shots, but the basics are fine. All the best with it.
Thanks for the feedback, ive ajusted it so the enemies only appear when you have certain xp... 250 , then 500 (to start with ) I guess once all the baddies show up , its gun time !!
