the first lvl magnet seems to have no effect and, upon hitting a spring, i lose all my forward momentum and go basically straight up

This game has potential. I think you should add achievements for height, distance traveled, amount of money collected, etc. And give a little bonus for each.
)

I keep falling through the floor and then the launch instead of ending goes forever. might want to check on that bug sir its game breaking.
