Great concept. It seems a little too simple, though. Is there any signifigance of the sides of the shapes?

Yes yes, most of people dont even notice the sides xD more sides means more score multiplier! Actually we designed much more elements, other enemy shapes behavior for example, but we made all game in 48 hours, so maybe in the future!

as far I managed to know this 3 commands to the balls.
1: keep left button to create a small black hole, that will attract all black vectors.
2: double click to launch all the black vectors in the opposed direction of the cursor, like a shockwave.
3 click a black vector and slide fast the cursor to make all black vectors move to that direction.
yes yes, that's about it! =D
