50% credit reduction on death is a bit harsh - Also needs more notice that the Yellow Arrow is where you are required to fly to stay safe.
Not sure if intended but when you fly through the channels if you shoot them the explosions are able to take out incoming enemies. Useful but not sure if intended, this will probably be a well rated game congratulations on it.

good idea, but sluggish to respond to controls when there are even a few enemies on the screen. Also, while I understand the idea of flying backward is different, it really isn't all that much of an innovation. I would change it back to normal forward style flying, and optimize the effects so that there isn't so much lag.
