Scratchy is an arcade/puzzle platform game. Your objective is to figure out how to escape from the room.
WARNING: avoid the "crumbling boulder" bug by waiting at least 10 seconds after loading the crane before releasing.
I should point out this is as much a puzzle game as it is an arcade game. It is pretty tricky but it is solvable. You will definitely have to use your brain to escape the room. To win you will have to pick up items, operate machinery, etc.
Left and right arrows to move. Space to jump and Space to release the crane. Also, P will pause the game.
If you like it, please let me know and I'll create more levels.

Yep, you got it! I think you might be one of the first to actually solve the first level. I have more levels on a new version. Would you be interested in playing more levels or should I not bother? I don't want to waste my time if no one is in to it.

I got to the top part on the first level and jumped, and just keep going, floating up and off the screen.
Yeah, that's the "getting high" bug. It looks like it might be an issue with how the framework works with regions. If you get it, the only fix is to reload the game. Doesn't happen too often luckily.

The rock sometimes disappears before hitting an obstacle after you drop it.
Yep, that is the big bug I've found so far. I like to call it the "crumbling boulder" bug. Hehe, it is a pita. I have a workaround though. After loading the crane wait at least 10 seconds before releasing and you shouldn't run into the issue.

controls are terrible, i'd like to be able to start the game when I want to. not when you decide i should be killed. make the 1st level a tutorial as well.
Controls are terrible how exactly? Move left, move right and jump are pretty basic so I need details on how to make it better. How do you like the controls on the crane? I will add intro screen, pause between death and easier intro levels later. You can use P to pause for now. Were you able to finish the level?

theres a bug where if you are on the rope thing and you jump off you are stuck to the tiles and also i think that you are suppose to be able to jump on the pipe but you cant
Yeah, I've seen that rope bug. But you can't jump on the pipe by design. You have to figure out something else. I'm not going to spoil it at this point. Ok, I have verified the first level is solvable on this version. There are some bugs, but it is definitely doable once you figure out the puzzles. It takes great skill and some luck too.
