Willie, I like this game, although I'd suggest honing your writing skills. If it helps, write it out in a word processor, check for grammar and spelling, and then copypasta that text into your code. I also recommend ~reading~ your story out loud, to yourself, or to your cat, or whoever is in the room with you. It sounds silly, but it really helps for you to catch a cadence in your writing style.
I wrote a zombie text adventure game, too, and just released this past weekend, titled Survival Horror: Interactive Fiction. We can compare notes, if you want!
