yeah this is a good for a beta. although there seems to be no point; the castle takes no damage. also, i think it would be cool to earn points to upgrade canons or hire people to fire for you. maybe also to upgrade walls (if you decide to put damage to the castle in)
This could be a really fun game. I like the idea overall

Really like this concept. Great beta, hope you keep working on it. Would be great as a team co-op type game, with all the different cannons to fire.

This has a lot of potential for a multiplayer co-op game. As a single player game, though, the cannon switching mechanic just doesn't work.

"*Arrow Keys/WASD To Move"
Honestly, I would rather just press the 1-0 keys to jump between the various cannons around the fort and skip the FPS movement. At least that way, you could have ships attacking from all directions at once in later levels without the frustration that moving from cannon to cannon causes as it is.
