I like the general bullet hell gameplay, but there are problems with the health balance. Having only two health means it's more about hoping you don't get screwed by having another bullet be at the other end of your dash than it is about dodging skill. Bosses have so much health, and dashing does so much extra damage, shooting normally feels pretty much useless. It becomes a question of "Do I want to play carefully and conserve my dash so I don't get hit when the line attacks spawn with almost no warning, or do I want to spam my dash so that I can do this phase in less than ten minutes?" And if the game has awards for time and no deaths, it desperately needs a reset key and level select.

Enjoyable game! I agree that the mechanics make it kind of frustrating since you want to dash to attack but you need to save it for defense. I wonder how the game would play if you cut the dash cooldown by half? Also, it would be nice if there were a stronger indicator for when the cooldown finished - like changing the entire background color so that I don't have to look at the ship. I found myself just standing at a wall dashing into it as the strongest strategy, which kind of defeats the purpose
That's good feedback, especially on the cooldown effect. I didn't do enough playtesting and analysis to really understand where the player's eyes are going for this one. I also underestimated the learning curve of the player for reaching the point at which they can actively strategize around their dash usage. Versions with significantly less cooldown (in my experience) motivated spamming so much, players would hardly take notice where enemy attacks go and just try to beat them quickly enough rather than reacting to their attacks.

The main thing that caught me was that the bullets have a slightly screwy hitbox I could be partially in one and not take damage. Dash does need a more pronounced cooldown especially in later battles, maybe make the sound louder? I feel it's better to have to choose whether to save or use the dash and the cooldown isn't so terrible that it completely matters. In later levels though like when you have to dash to avoid and boss 3 also is more spam dash think later.
