I think they should increase the upgrades. I have the fast sail and it doesn't even seem like I am going faster, even with the upgrades. They should make the differences of the items bigger.

So... Developer Response for the two guys praising the game, but the one with constructive criticism and twice as many upvotes gets radio silence? Hmm...

Good game, but.

I spend all this time upgrading and making myself awesome. Spend over 100,000 to max out my ship. And I only feel 15% stronger than when I initially started playing the game.

I decided to go all out speed boat. I'm not much faster than when I started, and many common ships outrun and outgun me. In fact, if you want to be a fast moving boat, you will often be made to lose your sails, completely immobilizing you and then you get overrun and die. You're definitely better off being a tank than being fast.

I just wish I felt awesome with a maxed out boat. Even with maxed out guns, shooting at a boss for an entire day, he still didn't die. I am as strong as I can be, and I don't feel awesome. And because of that, I don't feel like playing because I don't feel like I own these waters.

Hmm... Has to agree with RemiM4: waste a lots of resources to make perfect ship for you and gets still "wasted" yourself anyway! Maybe should use those special "Upgrade$$" to beat the Bosses and doing so would support future versions of this good game. Game production does NOT come cheap - I know that from personal experience. Upgrades could also include a few more ships to sail - like in the Pirateers 1. Did play the original (and still the BEST) Pirateers and loved it! One other improvement would be "Keyboard Freedom": you could configure your own keyboard layout, like for left hand mousers WASD -> HUJK, crew handling 1/2/3 -> Z/X/C and quests to "top". Still: enjoys "wasting time" with this AND playing the "Original".
