Bruh I was down to what I thought was the last battle in a hard game with spain and out of nowhere my galleon gets crit blasted by a sloop, and I lost the battle because of that.

This game is garbage. Try to research my tech and every turn it resets it. And don't get me going on the pirate attacks every turn

This game has potential, but its current form is fairly mediocre. The critical hits are way too common and the AI is terrible, it is really easy to beat, (I beat a galleon and a frigate with 4 brigantines). It would also be nice to be able to place the fortresses and for them to be harder to beat. Everything else is mentioned by jedimaster107.

Les forts devraient avoir plus de portée avec par exemple une autre recherche afin d'éviter que ceux-ci ne puissent se défendre contre des Brigantines ou les Brigantines avoir une case de moins d'action.

Une chose pourrait être ajouté : les territoires vides du départs pourraient aussi de temps en temps avec des bateaux pirates à détruirent : En option dans les paramètres de jeu. Surtout ceux avec des cartes de trésors trouvées.

Un autre carte serait aussi sympathique, par exemple l'Afrique ou l'Océanie. Avec un peu plus d'adversaires et du coup des autres recherches.

Les pirates et les coups critiques sont les seuls hasards du jeu. Ils ne contiennent pas de difficultés majeurs dans le temps. Mais c'est vrai que c'est rageant de voir plusieurs navires flambants neufs détruits en un coup!

Parfait petit jeu, non prise de tête. Facile à gagner si vous êtes calculateur. La rapidité est la clef du jeu comme souvent. Un niveau de difficulté supérieur en mode solo me serait agréable maintenant. Bon jeu!

Brigatines make forts useless, as you can move two spaces going from out of their range to your range, fire, then move two spaces back, being out of their range again.

Try to get close to the enemy, fire, and fall back to reduce the damage you take. Also, for frigates and galleons: after firing, board a sloop brigantine instead of firing at it, because it will not reduce your crew much, so you can attack multiple targets with one ship without much danger.

Frigates are the best ships, to my opinion. Sure, they are not as good as galleons, but the slow speed and high price of galleons make them unreleliable in long battles.

With improvements this can become a great game. When you start the game as Spain you can get a huge advantage by conquering most of the mainland from Florida to Honduras and Cuba. Then take Caicos too and consolidate by building fortresses and a navy. As nobody will attack you there is plenty of time to do this. Once your navy and defences are 100% it's easy to win the game. This is coused by Spain starting off in a faraway corner with lots of room to expand. The other nations don't have this advantage.

first play, learned game, second play, hard mode, 8 turns to finish, even tho pirates destroyed 6 ships in one turn, all enemys were dead by 7th. Great game, maybe add grape shots, to do crew damage if you like to board. boarding should have small change to capture ship, or replace if you had lost a ship during battle. on my second game, i had no need to build a castle or trade ships, as i just moved forward. maybe make map bit more clustered and defenetly work on AI. theese one ship suicide missions are destined to fail. hope to see battle sails 2

Good game, makes a lot of fun. But the AI is could be improved. You can shoot and board with 1 ship each round, but the enemy didnt do it. The critical hit by smaller boats is good, gives the game a good balance. The forts should be stronger.

This totally needs an auto-battle, then i would replay this game 10+ times, as opposed to the 3 times so far. for once a game in the Caribbean is focused more on the wealth than the piracy. 5/5

The battle minigame needs work.. the enemy won't ever attack, and I'm sure as hell not moving out of my fortified position, so its a standoff that never ends.

Fun game, but even the "Hard" setting isn't very hard, and a LOT of the stuff that could make for interesting game aspects end up not really mattering because they ultimately don't affect play that much.

First turn,sent 2 ships to cuba-lost them both in a storm...next turn,sent ship to cuba-lost it on a reef...um,how am I going to expand my empire at this rate?(don't suggest another destination besides cuba either...)
