Description
Pointless Violence is a basic shooter game, and my first upload to the web.
How to Play
Use the 'w' 'a' 's' 'd' keys to move, and hold down the left mouse button to shoot.
Every achievement you earn will unlock additional game content, mouse over each achievement on the in-game achievements screen to see what they will unlock.
Note that the achievements requireing you to complete a mode with full health do not require you to have full lives, and vice versa.
Power ups will never disappear after they have spawned, unless they are collected, consider saving timer based power ups for later use.
The terms FSPU: and FPPU: on the status bar stand for Fire Speed Power Up and Fire Power Power Up respectively, the number to the right of it is a timer indicating how much longer the power up will last if it has been collected.
Note that collecting a second Fire Speed Power up will add to the duration of the last one you collected, the same goes for Fire Power Power Ups.
Every time an enemy is destroyed by the player, a new one will take it's place, consider leaving weaker enemies alive and killing stronger ones in the hopes that they will respawn into weaker enemies.
Crashing into a bullet or a missile is often more desirable then crashing into an enemy.

Quite slow, and I'd prefer smaller enemies, but not bad for a first game.

Ok for a start. I liked the way the enemy difficulty advances, though I'd rather have permanent weapon upgrades.
Psychodelic SVGA rules!

This seems strikingly similar to Geometry Wars (first made in 2003, then re-released with the Xbox 360 in 2005, ported to Windows in 2007).
