Description

Manage and upgrade your sheep to prevent grass overgrowth - beware of wolves!

Please note that this is a prototype so balance is not perfect and some bugs may exist :)

How to Play

Keep upgrading your sheep, so grass doesn't grow too much, and it gets harder with every level. If it does, you'll be able to continue where you left of. Make sure to level up as it will help you eat more grass as it grows faster and faster. After your first prestige you also get a “auto level” feature, that makes that less grindy. Make sure to upgrade your sheeps' health at later stage so wolves don't kill them as easily :D

Game autosaves every 30seconds and on new levels - right now there is no idle gain so you have to keep game window open.

After a lot of people liking the general concept of the prototype I spent some more time fixing some of the main issues the game had and adding some new stuff to make it more playable, so if you played it before, might want to give it another try (pretty quick game):

- Mutation upgrades added – after a certain time your sheep mutate, making them eat grass even if there isn’t enough on the tile, further mutations double up eat rate of sheep
- Buy max option added
- farm increase will now scale out from center, allowing better distribution of sheep
- bunch of upgrades rebalanced, level cost multiplier also increased faster after L30
- Added a setting that allows you to ignore the game stopping/”losing” after grass outgrowth. It will auto play itself forward
- prestige point gain changed, to give 1 per level, the gain doubles every 10 levels. Each point will now give 1% boost instead of 5%. This makes prestiging much more worth it late game
- grass growth per second cap added, making it more senseful now to the amount of sheep you can gain (preventing instant overgrowth after a certain point)
- option to reset game added, and game save/import added
- wolf damage will now scale a min of 1 every 5 levels, making sheep upgrades actually relevant later on
- Beware of a bear roaming around at later stages!
- added some simple sounds cause why not
- various bugs should be prevented (negative grass, game breaking late stagesâ€Ļ)

Please note that if you played the game before, if you decide to continue with your old game state, you might encounter bugs. So I recommend resetting the game and starting from scratch to ensure everything works fine (plus some of you bugged out after a certain point so reset will allow you to play again). You can also just backup your old save and reset the game after.

Probably this is my last update for a while, but I might return to the game later on, as it’s really fun, and has ton of potential to expand/improve on

So. At a certain point the sheep are simply immune. Given how expensive they get I have no objection. However this game does have a somewhat hidden balancing issue. Not in the exponential more expensive sheep and the line to square ration issue of the expanding board. These are just issues to be overcome with EXTREME levels of income. And that's where the problem I'm seeing comes in. The better idle games have some encouragement to go farther for better reward. Each play through & prestige restart represents finding ones way to the balance point between diminishing returns and expanded gains and slowly pushing that balance point further and further. This game does the opposite. Going farther takes longer for the same level of return. It is faster to gain a 25% bonus 8 times than it is to gain 200% bonus in one run. Going to 300% or more can take hours. But 25% 12 times can be done in a few minutes once you have a reasonable income bonus.

Thank you for the feedback! There was an update pushed today that addresses a few of those issues. The most important one would be that it discourages the quick prestige as the gain per level is not linear any more. Also, sheep upgrades cost and wolf damage had been changed so it should be more balanced than before.

give us auto buying sheep , maybe a prestige tree (you have to pay with your prestige points) where you get like 1 / 5 / 10% dps per point instead of 5% per level cleared. prestige upgrades would be cool like: faster sheeps movement ,chance to AOE eating grass like 2x2 /3x3 ,dodgechance on wolf , more HP (so you could find a way to make the wolfs stronger, i mean wolfs aren't a really threat, less wolfs /level or longer cooldown to spawning wolfs. It's just an idea, you have to make the desision :D

Prestige needs to be multiplicative, rather than additive. The game really doesn't reward you for progressing :P

On the top list if I'll roll out an update for this, lease note it's a prototype/test of concept for now :)

Great start, maybe add upgrades for sheep AI to optimize them or something.

Definitely on the list! Currently they just move randomly without any particular order. should be added with future upgrades!
