Description

An old style, pixel-art game, inspired by classical point-and-click games.
A noir adventure, filled with references from hard boiled movies, old school games and Lovecraftian's horrors.
Explore the dark city of Mavropolis, helping a weird detective, Mr. Gilbert, trying to find Daphne, a missing girl, whose fate is more than uncertain.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Caos is not a mispelling. It's not 'chaos'. It's Caos. It's important.

USE IT WITH CAUTION: SPOILER ALERT!

How to Play

IMPORTANT: for the best experience download the latest version of the Unity Web Player and set the zoom of the browser at 100%.

To examine an item, use the ‘examine’ button (the eye) in the left inferior corner of the background (or use the ‘E’ hotkey); to select and use an item click on the item, click again on the same item to deselect it (or use the ‘E’ hotkey).

You can also save the game anytime clicking on the “Save Game” button in the game menu.
If you start a new game, the previous saved game will be erased.

ATTENTION: currently we do not have servers to store the saved game. The game is saved locally in the unity web player on your pc: you cannot start a game on a pc and continue it on another pc.
IMPORTANT: everytime you need a hint, or just to learn more about Mr. Gilbert and his story, don’t hesitate to click the ‘considerations’ button in the higher right corner of the background.

GREAT NEWS FELLOW GAMERS!

After a long hard work we’re proud to announce ‘A Matter of Caos: Complete Edition’!

Mr. Gilbert will finally have a complete downloadable version of his game – he was so tired to have to wait a month or more between a chapter and another!

You can download it here

With a small donation you can help us to develop a new Mr. Gilbert adventure; we have so many ideas about this project.

We want to create something new:
- a long detailed story, far deeper and captivating than the first one;
- a completely renewed graphic style, more professional, elaborated and fully animated;
- multi-languages support with completely revisited texts;
- a full original soundtrack;
- professional dubbed dialogues;
- more engaging enigmas and mini games;
- and much much more!

If you have already played ‘A Matter of Caos’ series or you’re going to play it and you like it please support us as much as you can: even just speaking about us would be great!

Just started. The bit with the safe and how the little money he has is inside it so he can't pay for a locksmith cracked me up for some reason.

Hey! It is mean to laugh at someone else's lack of money! Now the poor Mr. Gilbert will cry :(

But...they said badges would be given retroactively...

ExperaGameStudio

When Kongregate gave us the badge for the fourth episode it promised that all the badges for the first 3 episodes would be retroactively awarded. Unfortunately we did a mistake and because of that some people will not be able to get the badge retroactively for some technical issue and need to finish again the game. We're very sorry for this: anyway now the problem is fixed and from now on all of the new badges will be correctly awarded retroactively.

I really enjoyed this game. The hints through the breaking of the 4th wall, as well as that acknowledgement made me laugh a bit. Also the music contributes to the overall atmosphere in a wonderful way.

Sadly, it's not our original property; as you can see in the credits, it's from Kevin McLeod's magnificent site "incompetech.com". But thank you anyway! ^_^
