I finished the game and I enjoyed it. I didn't seem to have many issues with lag (until level 50). I thought at the end I would be able to see which levels I got the "sprite" on, which I completed with 100% fill etc. I don't see the point of having the sprite if it does no factor into the game score/ level completeness. Still, good game.
Thanks for the feedback ! For the 'goal' of the "sprites" system, well, if you have more than 6 of them, try to go in the Main Menu and access the Bonus Levels.

Additionally, it would have been nice to be able to scroll around the map so that I could plan my moves without launching a scouting mission first.

Ok, time for some clarification.
16 is a game made by two students, Franck and me, for a french game development competition called Casual Game Cup.
We worked 2 months on this game and we won 2 prices, the Audience Award & the Most Original Universe Price.
Then we decided to upload it on Kongregate.
Because we are not professional developers, but only students, no benchmark of any sort was made during and after the production.
So of course the game feels laggy if for example your computer is not recent.
And we're very sorry for that.
But the game uses a very powerful but heavy FX generator, and the gaming experience is not the same without it, but I'll probably do something about it.
If you want to try a desktop version, here it is :

(desktop and browser saves are not compatible)
I'll try to update it, taking note of every feedback we received.
Anyway, we hope you'll enjoy (or enjoyed) playing our game.
With love, Franck & Thibaud.

Not sure if it's lagging a little or if the fatter ones need more time to get their sqared asses up in the air. ;)
Cool game. :D

there feels to be a minor lag on jumping occasionally that can range from barely noticeable to over half a second between pressing jump and actually jumping.
This MAY be because however that for whatever reason you've made it so you can't just jump as soon as you land, which is all well and good, in a normal game where the character is not a basically featureless box *the face doesn't count in this case* and you can display such lag visibly so players go "oh, I can't jump right now, he's got post landing fatigue" or something.
