the power ups change way too fast, and homing(green) deals next to no dmg and hard to change from (since you cant destroy power holders w/o bombs), other then that, its a pritty good game, maybe add a "slow move" button or somthing and it would be perfect, has all 4 shot types, power (blue) peircing (red) homing(green) and spread (yellow), just needs alittle balancing, and a quit button from pause,3/5

This is a good start: nice graphics, good music, reasonable gameplay. However, it really needs autofire and I'd much prefer a system where you have an amount of armour that can potentially regenerate, rather than havign a fixed number of lives. The boss is far too difficult, since you either have the homing weapon that does no damage or you have to hit right under where the enormous death laser comes out.

First off, this is an amazing start. The shell of what you have built is one of the slickest browser-based shmups I've seen yet.
I agree with many of the comments on the balancing. The colors cycle too quickly for the weapon powerups. Many times I go for the red and end up getting the green even though only (seemingly) a second before it was blue. The weapons are unbalanced, as mentioned above. Perhaps making the red pulse going for 2 seconds bursts 1 second off, or something like that. The control is fairly smooth on my machine, but having that customizable would be nice. I've always like the option to hold down a key and then the ship moves pixel by pixel (slow movement, but not screen/enemy slowdown).
Thanks for posting and sharing your game.

Also, needs a restart button, since getting the green weapon is essentially game over.
