My wires suddenly disappear when moving to another room. Got stuck after that...

I had the same problem as Gregouille - wires disappeared and now I'm stuck... I'm not sure if they ever appeared in my inventory but they weren't there when I wanted to use them on the clock-thingy in the generator room.
