Description
Originally created for the 21st Ludum Dare competition, Caved In was inspired by Minecraft, Terraria, Dwarf Fortress, and dungeon crawlers. The goal of the game is to ascend all five levels to reach the surface. Along the way you can collect treasures and save a few stranded ladies. Lava and water flow to fill gaps and will kill you if you stay in them too long. Levels are randomly generated during each play. Full instructions in-game.
This post-compo version includes a proper menu and compass for finding the ladder on each level.
How to Play
Find the ladder on each level to ascend. You will escape when you reach depth 0. You score points for digging, collecting treasure, and saving those lovely ladies.
ARROW KEYS or WASD: move/dig
Z or SHIFT + ARROW KEYS/WASD: build wall

Rock landed on me. Now i can't move, but I'm not dying. Weak. Otherwise, like others are saying, good premise, nice game, but it needs more.

Might I suggest fixing the proximity of water/lava to the spawn point? I happened to spawn adjacent to a water block, and died before I could move. I know the level generation is random, but...
I will be fixing this in a patch tomorrow.

I wich the mochi high score submission didn't popped up after each play...

Yeay i managed to get between water and lava, and now i am stuck there without the possibility to die or get to any menu
