This is a rather nice game, the controls feel responsive and the weapons are rather varied, but the problem is the level selection. 270 levels of monsters, but they all rather feel the same, and rather easy. I used the same weapon combination, minigun, flamethrower and freeze grenade, to carry me the first two worlds which im so far though. I do most levels 3 stars gold on first or second try, though frankly, if i couldnt, id never had bothered coming back to them, because theres simply too many of these levels. There should be many more monster types and weapons for these many levels, so it wouldnt just feel like a grind, and up the difficulty.

Why have the upgrades if you aren't allowed to use them?
restricting higher level upgrades to later levels where the enemies are automatically tougher is like simply not bothering with weapon or enemy progression. It certainly takes all of the fun out of buying the upgrades if you can't go back to an earlier level and annihilate the peons with vastly superior fire power. Is it to try to keep the earlier levels challenging? 'Cause they are, you know, EARLIER levels for a reason. Sorry about the rant. I'm just confused as to where this is helping anything.
Constructive critique is always helpful. I do understand your points. The idea with the upgrade limit, however, is to make the medal scores valid for all levels, otherwise only the scores of the last levels would be meaningful, leaving the other scores redundant.

I saved up and bought the cake gun. It's not as strong as one would expect. :(

At least make higher difficulties give more money than lower ones. Easy, Medium and Hard difficulties give the exact same amount of money for the same stage. Also, I get making the medal scores valid by restricting weapon levels, but don't make it universal in the whole game. Make it so that choosing difficulty for a stage lowers the maximum level that upgrades can be used at. For example: Easy should not have any level caps, Medium could have around level 5 max upgrade levels and Hard could have the level 2 max upgrade level. Maybe they could increase a point at later levels in each world or per world. But yeah, make more upgrade restrictions only as difficulty gets higher.
