Needs to do a 180 with "S". The radar should also rotate relative to you, particularly since there is no distinction between walls.

Once you lose once or twice, the money loss sets your progress back enough that you start losing a lot more on later levels (and thus, lose even more money...) So if you fail too many times in a row, it gets nearly impossible to advance further
