Description
Explore caverns searching for crystals and grabbing fuel to stay alive, while you avoid vicious, fireball-spitting creatures.
This game grew out of a prototype developed for the 15th Ludum Dare competition (which had a theme of "Caverns"). If you're the adventurous type, the original prototype is available online as well here: http://www.thewasabiproject.com/flash-games/play/ld15-xue/
How to Play
Use the arrow keys to move your ship.
Collect crystals to earn points.
The game will end when you run out of fuel, or if you are struck by a fireball.
To mute / unmute the sounds and music, press M.
Protip: The odds of seeing high-value crystals increase as you go deeper into the cave, so if you're trying to find the (rare) 1600-point golden crystal head downward whenever you can!
Developer Updates
Version 1.3:
Iโve modified the controls so (hopefully) the ship will feel a little more responsive.
Fireballs are still a one-hit-kill in version 1.3 (though the tighter controls should help a bit with avoiding them); I am looking at setting up two difficulty levels, one with the current fireball setup, and an โeasyโ difficulty in which the fireballs just drain fuel โ that change will probably be in the next update.

So...I was going fast, then ran into a ceiling. And went through the wall. I got stuck and couldn't get out.

Controls are very difficult, what with the whole cave thing and all. I felt a lot like I wasn't actually controlling the ship at all. I like the concept but I could only stand a few minutes of play before becoming frustrated. I suppose I like tighter control, this felt very loose, if that makes any sense. 3/5
