Needs a 'Volcano' option. Ya know, for new islands. Totally not for destroying my thriving civilization.

It's quite nice, but I think it needs some more refining. If you let it run without any help then towns are founded too fast to allow the population to grow rapidly which ends up with population stagnation. For me this happens ubiquitously at 8 towns, where the population drops from the mid 20s to the mid teens and gets stuck there. Lowering the rate of town creation (or increasing population growth) would certainly help here.

More on the different surfaces: fire destroys trees and leaves Grass 2 behind. Pits are below sea level. If they touch water they will overflow. The deeper the pit, the deeper the water. Btw. pit 3 and pit 1 are mixed up in the help information. Roads seem to increase movement speed, rocks decrease it. Rock 2 makes it slower than Rock 1. Especially on the last few (rocks and roads) I am not sure. Would be cool if the game developer could include the correct information in the description or the help screen.
