Description
Beat Fleet is a game where you shoot shapes at shapes in order to get a bigger number. Or something like that. I really like the music I put in it. For better information, read the instructions below and the Game Intel from the main menu.
How to Play
WASD to Move
Mouse to Aim
Left click to Shoot (You can hold it down! Isn't that swell?)
F to Toggle Auto-Fire
Spacebar to Set a Muffler Bomb
P to Pause
Developer Updates
The day the game was published:
-It can take a very long time to load. Especially without little numbers counting up for you as it loads.
-Now played by girls, too. Automatic internet sales point.
-The third level is very, very difficult. This is to keep you busy or at least semi-interested until I come out with more levels in a couple weeks.
The Day After (ish):
-Fixed the custom song bug.
-Remembers your volume settings on startup.
-Now has a loading bar for the zip file and the songs.
-F-key toggles auto-fire for those of you with touch pads.

As a game developer, insulting the player that takes 5 minutes of his life to play your game is definately something you want to avoid. I did get a bad score at my first attempt, but maybe I would have had a better score if the framerate wasn't that bad.
The concept is interesting. The ramping is very steep at the beginning, but I've always enjoyed these kind of games. Keep up the work and try to make games for people that actually play your game, not only for yourself.

very familiar gameplay mechanics and i didn't feel like i was doing anything to influence the music, which is what i think is the most important quality for games in this contest. doesn't seem awful or anything though. 3/5.

This was actually pretty fun to play. I'm looking forward to seeing you develop this a bit more in the future, and I think it'll turn into one of kong's best.

Brilliant game and very well developed considering there's a 17 year old at the helm of all this. Really good effort and I can't wait to see this and any other projects you create develop.

I realize that it can take a VERY long time to load, especially for people with slower internet connections. I'm going to be adding a progress bar for the zip file loading sometime today, and when I acquire Adobe Flash I won't have to use a zip folder at all. Sorry about that, everyone.
