Suggestion: The checkpoints could use an extra few seconds added to them. On a near perfect run *I ran into one car from behind...* I just did hit the 2nd check point at 0 Seconds, while riding that 0 seconds threw multiple flags to get there. Once it turns night time, i only had enough time to get almost halfway to checkpoint 3 after hitting one set of tail lights. o_O

Lovely remake of the classic, but way too laggy. Also agree with comments here that the checkpoint time is simply nowhere near enough - even perfect runs won't finish the course. 3/5 for now.

@Drakkose As this is a PICO-8 game, it actually (should) have a pause button builtin (which defaults to 'P'), with an option to restart the cart.
Also, I've played this game before, but for some reason it's not working here on kongregate for me? (I'm using firefox on windows)

There is also no pause button, or retry button without having to sit in the middle of the road waiting for the time to run out. A pause menu is kind of the most basic need for virtually any game. Even arcade games usually have pause buttons for maintance purposes. :/
Also, dafuq is the soccerball for.
