That's it? maybe add some sounds between the phrases during the "second half". I know you wanted the pyschological effect to be had with the words but it just didn't sink in because you're waiting for something to happen in this long hall. Maybe add a run option. Throw in some banging noises. Footsteps. Music in crescendo.
