Consider each "intersection" a node. Count the number of paths exiting each node. Call this number the "degree". There will always be 0 or 2 nodes with an odd-numbered degree. If there are 2 odd-numbered ones, your path must start from one of them and end on the other. If there are 0 odd-degreed nodes, you can start on any node. This is basic network theory.

Nice concept, poor execution. Dragging the tiny ball slows down gameplay, why not just select a starting node and click? All the bugs I encountered were with dragging and placing the initial ball. Other gameplay functions fine. 2/5 until fixed.
