I'm still tweaking this, and have added a menu, fixed respawn, and added high scores. This is the first game I made with Unity, so if you have any suggestions, let me know. I'll be happy to look at adding them in.

You completely recaptured the magic of the Atari/C64 days. Well done. Right down to the Activision style achievement. I'm a little jealous.

Two skills I'd add: Regeneration - the speed of regaining health. Accuracy - have the gun start out inaccurate at a distance, and get better. I'd consider adding a couple options like: Space bar - stops the scrolling for a few moments based on a skill... Bombs - either can't buy, or can only carry one at a time. Some extra enemies that would be interesting: Spikes/fire/acid, etc. Obstacles that don't move, but can't be destroyed.

A way to redo your upgrades would be awesome. I'd even take a 'start over'.

Interestnig Game. I like it. I just don't have a lot of... I don't know... It needs... something...
It's not my thing, but it's not 'gay'. It just... didn't grab me. There's the bones of an ok, jump game. Don't let them get you down.

Great game. Like everyone else says, it would be nice to see the enemies more, or... be more enemy like... but the only two other things I can think of is 1) make the dark area a special thing. Like start outside, and have it turn on when you're in a cave, etc. 2) You have the bullets velocity based on how far away the cursor is when you shoot. I'd use that in a puzzle of some kind. where you have to hit a switch across a chasm and get the power of the shot right... etc. But again... good game.

It's amazing what a little touch does to a game. Nice improvement! Keep it up. I love the 4bit feel to the game. Keep going.
Add some enemies, an a 'plot' and this will be interesting. Power ups and achievements aren't a bad idea either. Spread, rapid fire, Damage, etc. I get this Idiana Jones/Pitfall feel from it. That's a compliment... I really like the look, and it would be fun to play, just needs a bit more... adventure.

There is the start of a good game here, it just needs a little more... game... Right now it's still a toy.
