As soon as you start moving, you are burning gas even if you are not pressing on the accelerator. It works more like a timer rather than how much gas you are using.

*looks at slow motion 'awesome!' and then looks at the fuel and goes 'wait what?! why is it going at the same speed as it usually is!'* and then there are the moments when your car decides 'i don't want to be on my wheels any more' XP
