You definitely need to fix the item-carrying - it didn't make it more fun, just more annoying. The graphics are good though, they remind me of Use Boxmen.

The item carrying was part of the challenge. If it was easier then the game would be more boring. Apart from that Greg-Anims(Sergeant) helped me out quite a bit on this one so you know there those graphic inspirations came from ;)

A couple of things. When you die, it should restart you automatically, rather than having to press "r" whenever you fall off a cliff. Also, Mr. Tart moves much too fast. Sure, it increases the difficulty, but the game becomes difficult for the wrong reason.

On the loading screen I almost panicked. It looked like it was de-loading!

The key carrying is the worst kind of difficulty in a game, for a very simple reason: it feels out of the player's control. Since it's super fiddly and somehow not responsive at the same time, it feels like every time it drops it's the games fault, particularly when you require pixel perfect jumps. Make a game with solid control, and then make that challenging. Don't make a game with poor ability to interact with the environment and then just say "oh that's the challenge."
