Description
Branch is a casual take on the hardcore genre of real-time strategy.
You take the role as the defender of a great cosmic tree, the birth-giver
of stars throughout the universe. The tree is being invaded by a mindless race of
robots, bent on harnessing the energy of the tree by capturing each branch of pollen-
generating stalks on the tree. You must use the power of the pollen to revitalize each
invaded branch or the robots will consume everything and no more stars will be born.
Without the tree, the universe will become a barren void – the balance of existence is
in your hands.
Branch introduces a simple system of interaction with complex consequences.
The player controls the elevation of his captured territory to establish and control
frontlines. You must constantly adjust your flow of pollen, to attack, defend and gather resources in an epic fight to save the universe!
How to Play
Control the camera using WASD and rightclick-dragging the mouse.
Pull your columns by click-dragging them.
Your flow will move downawards. Adjust your columns to control your flow.
Click a machine to attack it with a tornado - use your pollen to strengthen the tornado.

The control of the levels of your territory is frustratingly overcomplicated. It'd be better to have more of a snap-to-levels arrangement, with something like 10 different levels. As it is it's just frustrating to try and tailor the height of terrain.

Don't get it... The tutorial skipped step 10 really quickly, and the back buttons only go back in odd numbers... from 11 to 9 to 7. So I don't know what I'm meant to do to progress.

Now I've had a play with it, I think it's an interesting game (despite the tutorial being reaaaally sketchy). My cursor disappeared half way through level 3 though, and I can't get it back at all. I still managed to beat the game with incredible ease. The problem I can see is, to make the game harder, the only thing you can really do is speed up the AI's actions. Which will only make it more difficult for a human user because of their inability to use the controls as well... This doesn't make for a better end user experience, as there isn't anymore or any less strategy involved, it would be merely frustrating. To really make this game shine would require something more to the strategy than staggering stairs to create a good flow. Something like special hexagons/resources/bases/exploitable bonus'... All of those would increase the level of STRATEGY, and therefore the end user enjoyment of the game. Hope you read this, and take some of it onboard mate. Nice job otherwise. 3/5 atm.
