Description

FREE digital download / browser game for the first title in a set of three. The tale of Doris and the Dragon is an episodic, point-and-click adventure game series featuring an elderly lady named Doris who finds herself in Purgatory after passing away on earth.

The Tale of Doris and the Dragon can be described as a thoughtful and fantastical vision of life after death. On her journey, Doris meets many weird and wonderful characters that help or try to hinder her progress. Out of this, an unlikely friendship emerges.
The atmospheric and haunting soundtrack, composed and produced by AssadB, accompanies the minimalist pixel art work.

I really want to like this game but it's incredibly slow. If I click something, the chances are high that I will accidentally select "examine" instead of "interact" and the walking time is very long. I made it to the Daemon and it took so long to get back to the beam of light to find out if I missed anything so that I can continue, that I eventually gave up and decided to write this comment. I hope part 2 is more smooth. I'm encouraged by the positive comments and want to continue but I am becoming frustrated between the kind of inaccurate clicks I'm getting and the walking speed, and the dialogue where it seems I have to wait for her to stop talking before I can click the words away.

The music is quite lovely and I like the art style, so I'll be looking forward to the next game in hopes of being able to appreciate it as much as some of the other commenters. Best of luck!

OK, got there in the end with a bit of help from the walkthrough. I like the style, but was a bit disappointed with the game play. It was very slow getting around, with a lot of going back and forth. The interaction through holding the mouse button didn't work so well for me. And some things didn't make much sense - pouring white spirit on a vine so a dragon can burn it? But the flower survives and somehow I can reach it now when I couldn't earlier. Hmmm... Still, looking forward to the next episode.
