Description

PANZERS AND PARATROOPERS is a simulation of the Second World War in the Eastern Mediterranean. This game assumes that the Germans decided to invade the Middle East in the summer of 1941 instead of attacking the Soviet Union. This is not an easy game to learn, so please take the time to play the tutorial. Once you start playing, there are lots of hints and instructions to quickly help you master the game. Best of luck.

Developer Updates

Sep 28, 2012 8:13am

For those who have played DICTATORS AND DEMONSTRATORS, this game contains a few new features:
1) Interdiction: There is a new card type that allows you to “turn off” an enemy supply head as a source of supply. Now, you can cut off enemy supply lines without actually capturing the supply head. In this game, the Interdiction cards are designed to simulate submarine warfare. In the Mediterranean, the Royal Navy submarines hunted Axis convoys, and I wanted to capture this element in the game.
2) Air Range: Supply heads now have air ranges, which appear as a gray field when you drag your mouse over a supply head. Any hex covered by the gray field is within range of that supply head. This feature reflects the limited range of WWII aircraft. In this game, the air range feature only limits AIR DROP cards, but it will play an important part in the next game.

Not bad, but towards the end the cards were all the same, just aircraft, tanks and ground assault. Couldn't do anything so spent about 30 rounds doing nothing then won by default. Not the dramatic conclusion I was hoping for...

Thanks Monty 1974. I've made a few tweaks to the discard function and uploaded a new version of the game. You should now get a wider variety of cards when discarding.

It felt strange to play it at first, but once you get the hang of how things work it's a nice little game. Can be a bit frustrating at times when the card(s) you need just won't show up despite how many discard 3s you play, but overall a nice product anyway. :)

I'm cought up in an interesting stalemate where the enemy controls the entire map, except for Cairo, and the regions around it are minefields. I'm overflowing with resources and military power, but I can't capture supply bases to gain control of any territory. Axis also can't take Cairo because I keep blocking their attempts to destroy my minefields.

Hi mamamiaguy; My guess is that you lost all of your supply heads (the hexes with the red dots). If this is the case, try using an amphibious assault card to capture an enemy supply head. The amphibious assault card does not require access to a supply head. Once you have a supply head, you can start using ground assault cards to push back the enemy. Thanks for playing.

The Axis seems to have an unlimited supply of resources as they do some form of attack every single turn. Shouldn't they spend at least 1 turn out of every 5 to replenish some?
