Spawn till you drop

Description

This is my very first game and I built it off the shootorials. I did all the coding for the game. This is the first chapter of a story about a fish who wants to dominate the seas.

Graphics were done by Wendy (who doesn't have her own website atm, so you'll have to settle for just Wendy)
Not all the graphics have been Wendy'd yet, so I'm sorry if some still look urr Salvatorian..

The second song I found on soundsnap.com

I've made my own sound effects and collected some from soundsnap.com

My roommate Stephan has tested my game like a gazillion times so he deserves some credit as well.

STORY:
It's a fish-eat-fish world out there and you're hungry.

Your ancestors where born in a nuclear dump lake. Through each generation, your species has begun to evolve. The hazardous life environment has ensured a short life cycle and your species has evolved a unique way to reproduce. Whenever your seed comes into contact with another fish, it will bury itself in it and eat its way out, almost instantaneously.
The result is a spawn that has both your DNA and the fish that it used as it's host.
You in turn eat your spawn and that's the new circle of life.

How to Play

Arrows to move, space bar to shoot.
WARNING:
YOU LOSE HEALTH WHEN YOU SHOOT
THIS IS NOT A BUG

P will pause the game and allow you to mute both the music and the sound effects.
It's a simple shooter with some twists.
If you have any trouble beating Boss 2, try getting the smarter spawns upgrade and you will be able to retrieve some health when you fight it.
