Tragedy strikes, or maybe it creeps up on you. Someone or something important is gone — it left suddenly, or gradually. Every day feels the same. Those around you try to help, but they are not very good at it, are they? You are trapped in a rut.

You feel that one day, maybe soon, that things might be different — better, even. You don't know how or when it will happen; you don't have the perspective or energy to figure it out.

In the meantime, you need to make it through the day — you need to survive.
