This game runs on Adobe Flash. Effective Jan. 2021, Adobe began blocking its flash player's use everywhere. Kongregate is now partnering with Ruffle to make some of our Flash content playable again. Description
Retro shooter with a modern twist.
How to Play
Use arrow keys to move left and right. Use the up and down arrow keys to toggle the splitting of guns on and off. Use spacebar to fire.
You will need to split the guns to kill the bosses and to get double hits on enemy craft, that result in bonuses.

i find it too difficult to tell between the bits of exploded enemies and their attacks

Don't pause your game on the boss fight. All his attacks build up on the screen then kill you when you un-pause it. Good concept but its kinda boring. 2/5

The split was innovative, but it was easier to just stack them up and get the concentrated power. Perhaps the second pod shouldn't take damage when split away?
