Description

This is an entrant to the Global Game Jam 2013. The theme was a heartbeat and we went with Edgar Allan Poeโ€™s โ€œThe Tell Tale Heartโ€ for inspiration.

It is a point and click investigative game.

Please consider it as a demo of more to come!

Created by Shane Kavanagh, Paul S. Oโ€™Brien, Shane Oโ€™Brien, Martin Oโ€™Shea.

How to Play

The game uses just the left mouse click and the mouse movement. Click objects to interact and listen for clues!

Oh, I got it. I made it to the end. I like how the longer you spend time in the room, the creepier it gets. Yeah, I'd say it's less of a game, and more of an interactive experience. Good job guys.

Thanks a million, if the one thing we were all saying once it was handed up was that we could have done with more gameplay! I'd love to expand on this with a full house and actual fail scenarios. Cheers again for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it =D

Um, but what do you do? The whispering guy when you pick up the vase seems to say "this is a bottle"? ... And once I pick up an object, I can't do anything besides put it down again. And I can't pick up the fire poker (I was hoping for a weapon as I continued, or to at least start a fire in the fireplace with the candle before I left, or to take the candle with me on my investigations.) The door doesn't seem to want to open either, but just rattle. Which is creepy - you guys have set up a good creepy atmosphere.

Haha... Okay, I can see the floorboard moving. (And sadly, Telltale Heart is a Poe I haven't read, so I only know of it from The Simpsons)... hah! If this game is just to be a creepy experience, you've achieved it. (And great job, the last time the room shook suddenly my heart flipped and I jumped a little.) If I'm supposed to be able to do things with objects and/or leave the room, it is buggy and needs refinement.

Sweet! I'm excited to play any game coming out of jams. They are tough - I've done TOJam twice!
