"Deceptively simple turn-based dungeon crawler"
If you like Rogue-likes but are tired of things like inventory management and stats comparison but still want the depth and adventure, then this is the game for you! All you need is WSAD* (*author's preferred control scheme, you can also use arrow keys or mouse).
Asterius is a "smart" and true, but streamlined rogue-like dungeon crawler game, inspired by ASCI games like Rogue (obvs), but made so each procedurally generated dungeon is winnable. The game is carefully crafted to give each dungeon a hand-designed feel with the randomness of a Rogue-like. The mechanics are easy to learn but take a long time to master.
Your progress is automatically saved so come back any time to continue your game! (WARNING: Only works if Flash Player can save in your browser's tmp folder, otherwise, you can always download the swf)
This game was predominantly designed for mobile. Go to our website for the beta on Google Play or iOS.

Move: Arrow keys, WSAD

Very excited about this game love rogue-likes. First impression is great graphics but a little laggy. I understand you are trying to cram a lot in a little game. If the game is in beta, I would volunteer that most of us would most likely be willing to sacrifice a bit graphically for a smoother game-play experience. You mentioned in an earlier comment about how certain things would slow the game down even more. At the end of the day, unfortunately, if it is too laggy, most people just won't bother playing at all. So that would be my focus is getting the game running smoother. Then work out the bugs when more people play.

You are definitely right! I personally hate laggy games myself. It's something I've been struggling with throughout development. I have plans on how to improve it (it's more than just the oversized assets), but it's not easy for me as I'm a self-taught programmer. I really appreciate this, though. It does motivate me to keep it up! Thanks!

Version 0.34.1 is even smoother. Still have some work in improving it even more, but enjoy the performance and fixed bugs!
