Description
Latest v1.5 - Massive performance increase in WebGL version! Please let me know how it runs for you.
This started out as a personal weekend project, but as time went on I couldn't stop polishing it and adding features! Now it feels almost a shame to not make an actual game out of it.
I ended up with a breakout type game that I believe not only captures the original game's feel but also adds a little spice.
I would love to hear your ideas, critiques and reports on any bugs you may find.
There are not that many levels right now, but if people are interested I would like to start creating more.
Thanks, I hope you enjoy!
How to Play
Move the paddle with your mouse, launch the ball using left click. Break all the bricks and claim your place on the leaderboard!

A bit laggy at times but otherwise a great game. More levels!
Thanks x4dm! Did you try disabling shadows? Do you know which version you were playing, the WebPlayer or the WebGL version? I am aware that the WebGL version has some performance issues. It is the only platform I've built to that is stuttering like this unfortunately.

Good 'break out' clone, with some nice twists on the original. Keep going the way you are, don't try to add too many features at the same time, you might end up breaking other parts of this already great game.
Thanks Mickk! I've slowed down on base features for now. I want to concentrate on level progression and polish for the time being.

Very nice playable demo! No obvious technical issues, except the mouse cursor can travel outside the window. For a more complete game I suppose you should consider progression, balancing available upgrades with the levels, limitation on number of active upgrades, downgrades, background images, music. That's a lot, but the quality so far is very good. Keep it up!
I'll definitely take all of this into account when I build further on the game. I already have a drop rate system built in, if I disable the random drops completely I can force any given block to drop a specific powerup. Just this gives me a ton of possible level strategies. Thank for the input hansbe!
