Why is this game so hard? After the second round, I get defeated almost every fight.

Do increased levels actually affect the stats of the fighters? I can't seem to tell a difference in stats unless upgrading them.

How do I get Advanced? I searched online, couldn't find a way to do so.

If you are about to start a new game, click Upgrade instead of Begin. Or if you are already in a game, pull up the character sheets by clicking the hero portrait, then go to the elf or dwarf and click the upgrade link on the bottom left.

Make a game where we can just blow up the tiles like at the end of a level! It feels so rewarding.

I got a silver chest after defeating the first boss. I was told to just click on the chest to open it, but there is a 16 digit combination? There was no dialogue or tutorial about this. Did I miss something?
The chest awarded from the boss will be in the list on the left side of the chest screen. The locked chest on the right side of the treasure room is for entering the combinations we and our partners give out.

My barbarian got "constricted" by a snake while he was on the stairs. Clicking on your character to wait a turn just takes you up and down the stairs.. I now have to restart?

I can't get the game to start. I click "Start Game" and a little cat bounces on the logo. Then the screen just stays black :(
