got stuck on the first boss because i had no ranged attackers and there was an archer on an island.

It actually doesn't even matter what towers you build. get through level 26 and you are going to beat the level. read the comments... play another game. whatever you want.

One tip, upgrades are largely overpriced. no reason to buy them

Great game. Def buggy though. I keep losing the control bar. I am stuck with the select tool!
