i know how you feel. i hate it when i like something and then they change it. if it's working, don't change it. in our case, we had to change the art for legal reasons. we picked one of the most popular artists on planet minecraft and were very glad he let us use his art. maybe in the future, we will have user-created art, and players can choose their graphics. not sure, but we've always thought about it.
