Technically the Japanese did land paratroopers on pearl but it's up to you to decide if thats classed as an invasion, most of the destruction was done because the japanese used a microsub to sink a tanker in the entrance to the harbour boxing in all the frigates and destroyers.

Actually NBV the tribals are quite good when played properly, they just have more varied abilities and lower average dmg so more for a skilled player
