Ascension is broken, can't buy anything and after the 3rd ascension my evolutions tab kept the red dot saying to buy something after humans... There's nothing there

I think I may have started playing in the middle of a fix, I can find iron, it just won't say that I picked it up when I drill over it. Doesn't matter about the angle
